My life mantra is simple, perhaps redundant but also packs a lot of meaning. Something that I have said time and time again to every student, peer, co-worker and family member when discussing spiritual growth is, "it's not about me, it's all about Him."  As soon as we can start putting that phrase into action and living it out in all we do and say, imagine what would blossom from that.

Experience

I have been involved in Ministry for over 30 years both as a pastor and professor. I have found such joy in the mentorships I have formed with both high school and college age students over the years. Relationship is my passion, both teaching and learning on how to further invest in those around me.

The last nine years have been spent at Spring Arbor University. Throughout my time here I have been a professor of communication and youth ministry. In the last three years, I moved into the position of Director of Church Relations.  Through this position I was able to travel throughout the midwest to speak at Christian high schools sharing the gospel and the great things that SAU can offer.

Over the last several years I have had the privilege to speak at the Free Methodist International Youth Conference and other surrounding churches. Sharing about the love and grace God has for each of us is a gift and passion I have been fortunate to grow over the years. Over the last year I have gradually been drawn more to a life of public speaking and I am constantly looking for new opportunities to continue that growth.

Family

Pictured is my beautiful family of eight and growing. My spectacular wife of 40 years and I raised three wonderful daughters, two of which have acquired some amazing men for husbands. With my only grandson at the ripe age of two, it is nice to finally have a gender equilibrium in my home for the first time since my eldest daughter was born 30 years ago. No matter my professional accomplishments on this earth, as long as I have these people standing beside me along the way I will know love and joy. I have found that the greatest moments in life have not come from the highs of speaking to thousands or the bliss that comes from helping a student but in the menial moments I get to spend with the people who love me unconditionally.
